the advice i have had is to carry.....

sharp knife

line cutter

surgical shears!

must say i DO laugh at divers with a huge huge f**k-off knife strapped to their leg . . . because higher risk of getting trappen, entwined in something rather than a decent small BCD knife!

will this comment start a new "fish fight?!"
