Computer help needed

I've recently just re-installed windows on my computer. I don't have the original monitor as it broke and I'm now using an acer 17" monitor instead

The only problem is that now I can't seem to change to monitor setting and everything is huge.

I never had this problem before when I 1st started using the monitor. Everything was normal size.

I'm guessing that it's because I've re-installed windows and I don't have the required driver installed.

My original monitor size was 19"

Has anyone got any ideas as what I should do?
