Host nations always get away with things. Even England - as the way Spain were cheated against us in '96 showed, and arguably, Kuntz' disallowed goal in the semi too. My overriding impression of Klinsmann's Germany was very positive though: they proved that northern European sides CAN play positive, attacking football, even in hot weather. And they played like a team, while England were anything but.
