Doncaster's transfer warning - EDP

Neil Doncaster today warned fans not to expect Glenn Roeder to be given a transfer war-chest this summer.

He said the labour costs involved in changing the yellow seats in the stands which spell 'flybe' to 'aviva' would eat into funds.

He said: "Although flybe and aviva both have five letters, our new sponsor's name actually uses up more yellow seats.

"Added to the cost of actually moving the seats to spell the new word, this results in a considerable outlay for the club.

"These are exactly the sort of costs that fans are not aware of when they draw up their summer transfer wish-lists.

"The reality is very different - and only a smug f*cker like me knows that."
