As a neutral it was all about who you hated least

and who topped your very own personal c**t-o-meter.

Compared to usual Ronaldo was more focussed on football, he was disappointed when his team failed to produce the football in the second half that had put them in charge in the first. Cech was fully prepared for his penalty and proved the old english saying that "penalties are a lottery" is in fact a load of old arse, if you watch the penalties taken by a team you learn things. Cech knew not to dive early and it almost won them the trophy. I usually cant stand Ronaldo but he's different class, it would have been a massive injustice if his miss lost it for them.

John Terry on the other hand, never has there been a better example of football karma coming back to bite someone. The way he was threatening tevez after drogba had rightly been sent off was sickening. If some no-mark like mikel does it then i'm not that bothered but the England skipper is a different manner. It's back to the old 'role model' argument and he may scrub up ok for interviews and speak very politely, but it doesnt take the best trained eye to realise that on the pitch he is about 40% world class defender, 60% thug.

I hope we never see Drogba in English football again, he is part of the reason why i found myself at least slightly rooting for ronaldo. The man is a joke, another injustice is that his act of petulence didnt have a bigger bearing on the result.

Nemanja Vidic, this guy is the real deal. It took him a while to settle in but i think last night he looked world class.

Makalele could've walked at a few different points during the game.

and I'm happy for Scholes and Rooney, both of whom i thought were sacrificed too early.
