Hucks, again

Now that I'm finally beginning to manage my bristling disappointment over the handling of his exit, my thoughts are turning to the short-term future.

And it's a bit like that bit at the end of Good Will Hunting. If I had the skills or equipment I'd do a YouTube video for it - but be glad that I haven't, everyone.

It'd be like this: my own part would be played, fittingly I think, by Matt Damon. Awful reality would be played by Robin Williams. I'd toddle into his office and see him looking through a file.

Me: Hi, Awful Reality.....

AR: Ah, Suggs, come in. I've been reading your emotional response to Hucks' departure.

Me, sitting uncomfortably on a corner of his sideboard): Well, I tried to be objective.

AR: I see that. You point out that he'd lost an edge from his pace, and was difficult to build a team around.

Me: Yes, and I go on to say that his hip was a bit gammy and there could never be any guarantee how much he'd have played next year

AR: I saw that, too. (Moves towards me) And how do you feel about the situation, now?

Me: Well, you know, like everyone else I'm bearing up, and....

AR: Hucks is gone.

Me:...and it's too early to know how much we'll....

AR: Hucks is gone.

Me:...and after all the loan market...

AR: There's no Hucks.

Me: I know.....

AR: He won't be playing.

Me: (shrug, smile) I know....

AR: There's no Hucks.

Me (standing up):I KNOW....

AR: Pattison may be on the left.

Me(shoving AR away from me): I know, what are you trying...

AR: There's no Hucks.

Me, looking down at my shoes): ................

AR: There's no Hucks.

Me:.......................I........

AR: There's no Hucks.

I begin to blub and he gives me a big old comforting hug. Picture fades to grey. New scene opens with me lying on Kate Beckinsale's bed. She walks in, wearing a City shirt and no panties.

I admit that I'd have struggled to film the second scene, for a number of reasons.

Isn't it a good job that I can't put that on YouTube, then?
