a fair number of people seem to think its outrageous as a football decision. If the club thinks that the decision not to offer him a contract will generate an angry reaction it makes sense not to announce it when the club has a game coming up and said fans (mob mentality being what it is) might ruin the atmosphere and be a potential flashpoint at the club's last game. More sense to do it when people have the off season to get over it?
Maybe if the club could trust the fans to treat it as a footballing decision and let the manager get on with his job they might have released the info earlier? But with the sort of self-important stirrers about who love trying to generate protests and trouble etc in this internet age (the Pink Un board is pretty scary sometimes with some of the people who claim to "support" the club) maybe it is easier to understand they have more reason to be careful.
