I agree to a certain extent with those complaining about that Huckerby wasn't allowed a proper sendoff.
But:
Glenn Roeders job isn't to dwell on the past. He must look forward, and to let the season finish be interrupted by angry fans blasting the decision on not offering Hucks a new contract is not something the club would have profit on.
Huckerby has undoubtedly been a talisman for us, but I think it will be a mistake to turn against Roeder based on the handling of Huckerby. Roeder has saved us from relegation, and he is a man of action, and is not afraid to make unpopular decisions. I think we should be thankful that we have such a strong manager.
