In my opinion

if you sign someone for £500k up front you'd say "we've signed x for £500k". If you sign someone for a fee that can amount up to £500k, you'd say that. Goss was interviewing him and he gave nothing away, apart from that. I think he thought that the Gunn Club residents would be massively impressed with us spending £500k on a player.
