Legend set to be offered new deal

A source a close to City's board has told Cheep Shot that Darren Huckerby will be offered a one-year deal next week.

The winger is out of contract during the summer and it was thought that he would be heading out of the club with City boss Glenn Roeder seemingly unwilling to give a straight answer on his future.

However, we understand that his recent form, desire to stay and the easing of his hip injury, has persuaded Roeder to ask the board to extend the former Coventry, Leeds and Manchester City man stay for another season.

Hucks, along with Mark Fotheringham and Gary Doherty whose deals are also set to expire in the next month or so, will have their futures confirmed on either Tuesday or Wednesday.
