Sheffield Today

So we travelled to watch a game of football knowing whatever the result, we'd be safe. 4,500 in the Away End, Dion's last game and 32,000 anxious Sheffield Wednesday fans. The team started in very fine style, Dion at the centre of everything in the first half, setting up Hucks for the first goal, and we should have scored more. But we didn't.

It was never a penalty, the Linesman bottled it, too afraid to approach Mr Clattenburg to say Shacks played the ball. After that, some stupid defending let Wednesday score 3 more and we were left to reflect that this game just about summed up this quite awful season. An inability to finish, defensive lapses, and poor refereeing.

Thanks to Glenn, for keeping up up, but major surgery is needed next year.

Dion Dublin, thank you, a legend. The applause when subbed was well deserved, also the salute at the end of the game.

The fans, although there were 4,500+, we were a bit too quiet.

A least this horrific season is now over. Upwards I hope!
