Anyway, the aliens aren't the point...

the point is that they suck people into their cult by going after people who feel like they have something wrong in their lives, but don't know what.

So first they give them a 'Stress Test', which, surprisingly, tells people that they are stressed and...guess what!?...Scientology can help.

This is the start of the process...they might give you the first book for free..you read it, it makes sense...then you get a bit deeper in and that's when they start charging you for the reading material..

But then at the same time, you get so-called 'auditing' sessions...this is the start of the process by which you are meant to shed yourself of thetans and work towards being 'clear'..a process which costs many many thousands of quids. Essentially you are encouraged to reveal all your darkest secrets, which are then recorded and kept by the 'church'

The initial auditing may be free..but pretty soon you get charged for it. By this point you will be encouraged to disconnect from friends and family who do not agree with Scientology, or want you to stop..these people are called SPs or 'Suppressive Persons'.

The 'Church' becomes your life..you get sucked further and further in...and if you decide to leave..well, you know what? that free auditing you got? it's time to pay for it!
