Well, it feels like that! As for the heroes comment...

and wondering where the next one will be unearthed - i'm pretty sure we didnt see an 18 year old in the Man City youth team as an obvious hero, or (to a lesser degree) a hero and a new club captain from 24 year old Scot (all Scots are rubbish, remember) that couldn't get a proper game for a provincial Swiss club.

It's annoying, and frustrating, and we can all point to mistakes the Board makes, but we can also acknowledge (occasionally) that they do get some things right.
