From a simple profit/loss perspective its probably not a disaster as I am sure that we have simply done a deal with this fanchise and the Club is unlikely to lose money even if the event bombs which i think it almost certainly will.
As always the Club should not be criticised for attempting something new for the fans and the "greatest ever" as a concept could have been a cracking event.
However, this particular event is completely ill thought out and in my view will be an embarrassment. The target audiences for the music line-up and the football elements are entirely incompatible. Whilst we might not lose out financially I think we will lose out in terms of some of our greatest ever players who deserve a big crowd of FOOTBALL FANS there to give them recognition turning up to find that either (a) nobody has turned up or (b) a load of screaming women and children have turned up and can't wait for them to get off stage as they are waiting for Rydian from X Factor. I don't buy what ND says about the target audience. We don't need a new fanbase of middle aged women and teenage girls at Carrow Road. We've got more than enough of those already which is one of the reasons the atmosphere is so cr*p these days.
