Grumblings of Mrs Git about having a third car have imposed budgetary constraint of about 6k
My heart wants to buy an old Land Rover Defender diesel, but at that price it would have at least 100k miles on the clock. Would it spend its life up on blocks and generally be a pain in the arse, or do they really go on for ever?
My head says buy a Skoda or a Toyota Yaris because it'll be lower mileage, good value because of badge snobbery and much more reliable. But it is such boring idea that I'm not sure I can face it.
My other ideas have been a VW Golf convertible or a Mazda MX-5 (bit mid-life crisis-ish). In that price range either would have about 70k on the clock. Am I going to run into major mechanical issues?
What does the wisdom of the Wrath suggest?
