of him "not giving his all". Hev was poor at the end of last season but he may well just have been knackered. Given that he was our only box-to-box midfielder (and virtually carried our midfield all season while Holt ran around in little circles and Hucks/Bentley stoiod around with hands on hips when the other team had the ball) that would be pretty understandable. In the Fulham game (which everyone mentions) he was our only midfielder once Holt had come on for Safri (and prior to that I thought he had played pretty well). Think it was a bit fair for him to get so much stick - he was no worse than quite a few other players and it was only because he was so good for the first half of the season (and thereby raised expectations of him so much) that he attracted so much criticism.
