If Chambers was spotted by a team when he was young, I bet he would have had trials.

Nowadays academys/teams look at physical attributes more than they do natural footballing ability.

For example, a big strong lad who is quick is ten times more likely to get an academy/pro contract than a little guy who is slow but has a great touch and control.

This is part of the reason our national game is so poor.

DO you honestly think Walcott woul dhave made it to where he has if it wasnt for his electric pace? What other attributes does he possess in your opinion? A quality cross? A great touch? An eye for a pass?
