Partly Windass...

the Board (Chase) had to OK all transfers, O'Neill went to Chase and asked to buy Windass for something like £1m and was promptly told to piss off as that sort of money for a player his age (about 27-28 at the time) didn't make financial sense with the limited years left in his career, not much chance to sell him on and make money etc.

I wonder what Windass is doing these days?! Erm...
