But Peter Grant had first whack at the Earnshaw/Etuhu money (£4.5m total?), the club needed some cash anyway, and transfer fees are not paid in full up front whereas I think loan fees are (Not sure on that one).
Brown and Lewis (£750k) will be money which should have gone to Roeder but again, he would only have had 1/3 of that up front. I can't see the likes of Ryan Jarvis or Simon Lappin commanding much in the way of loan fees, whereas with the exception of Camara and maybe Henry there can't be many too cheapies in the bunch we've got in.
Swings and roundabouts, I suppose; the club could take on loans to cover the period between the next instalment of the transfer receipts, but that would cost them money.
Or, most likely, I'm just talking out of my arse as usual! :-)
