Bauhaus, The Birthday Party (in parts) & pre-Goth Killing Joke were good though. Goth-era Banshees were s**te; punk-era they had one good song ("Hong Kong Gardens") - much like The Cure ("Killing An Arab"). Sex Gang Children were OK-ish for a while. As were Southern Death Cult. Early Sister's Of Mercy were very good (Alice, Floorshow, etc.) and still sound OK; but were crap later when they had a few hits. All other Goth bands were total bobbins though without exception.
