I don't think that's an appropriate reaction. He's just one man who's had a bad idea.

It happens all the time. He really ought to have seen it coming - cause and effect. Bad idea + publicity = derision.

I agree it's a shame he's been ridiculed, it's really not necessary, but then again, it's a shame his idea's not better, to be frank.

However I can't say I have much time for the sentiment that "at least he's had the balls to 'do' something". Are we supposed to celebrate his lack of enterprise planning skills? I don't think so.
