During the early-to-middle part of last season

when Leon looked like he was never going to find the belief in himself that a Prem striker needs, I suggested precisely that. I argued that up front he was taking the place of someone who *might* fnd that belief more quickly, while also noting that his workrate and commitment should keep his place in the team somewhere.

Being entirely unimpessed with Jonson, I suggested Leon for the right wing..... but before I'd hit 'send' I realised that this would mean we'd have two wide players each on their 'wrong foot', so I withdrew it.

However, I'm still not convinced that it'd be that bad an idea next time his goal-eye deserts him for a lengthy period. After all, McV is right-footed and even in his better days he doesn't look comfy on the right.

God knows - who'd be a manager, eh? I'm sure Worthy'd be happy with Leon on the right wing (I'm only surprised Shacks hasn't been put there) but I tend to agree with the point, below, that his immediate control isn't up to the task. Play a ball *way* in front of him and he'd do well - but balls to his feet might too often be shinned into touch, and balls into his path might make him appear clumsy.

Let's hope he starts the season in top form, because he's a striker, full stop.
