We'll miss him.
But we can't be "the club" that relies so ,uch, maybe even too much, on a bloke whose nearly 40, good as he still is. In his prime, he was one helluva player and miles better than maybe similar players (Ashton?) today, although I do suspect that Deano is not quite the player he was, or could have been, due to persistant injury and fitness worries? But thats another point.
We need to move on from Dion, say a huge "thankyou" to him and prepare for life without him-and quite possibly Hucks as well. I think, in some small way, when Hucks has gone, we will have a "Henry effect" at the club, in that, when Henry was at Arsenal everything went through him and they relied on him in set plays and tactics so much. Maybe we will have the same improvement when Hucks is no longer part of the picture?
Next season is going to be another struggle. Lots of players out, lots more in, I can't see it being a promotion campaign for that reason, the problem is, if, when, it isn't, will Roeder and co get lots of pressure and will the "Roeder out" campaigns start?
