Could have easilly straight redded Shackell. Played on so many times, and could have gone back to tackles and booked players

But in doing it his way, the players had his respect, as they all knew where they stood

The reason he was like that is he's probably come off the playing fields of local leagues, where understanding of people is paramount

Give it a few years and our FA will have beaten all that out of him and he'll be asking for Ronaldo's autograph
