Well, if you don't have to use IE then download FireFox or Opera for starters.

I'm not sure about enabling Javascript in IE as I don't use it. Probably under Internet Options though. But, be careful just how much you enable.

Recommend the following plug-ins for FireFox:
AdBlock Plus (with Adblock Filterset.G Updater)
NoScript
Session Manager
