Horrible to watch. The camermen continued filming during the fire and were pelted by stones because of it - a riot almost ensued.

It's amazing what impact this tragedy had on football here in Britain. Much is said of the changes post-Hillsbrough, which indeed took out terracing and improved stewarding, but the Bradford disaster had just as much, if not a bigger impact on football.

I used to go and watch Doncaster now and again back then, and straight after the fire, one of their wooden stands was closed. This happened throughout the leagues and hit many of the lower league clubs hard at the times. But Bradford's problems were also due to lack of access to rear of stand (all exits were locked) and extremely poor stewarding (non-existent), plus fences at the front of the stand, blocking any quick exits.

Looking back, it's amazing the changes that Bradford, Heysel (just 2 weeks after Bradford) and the Hillsbrough disaster had on football here in such quick time. Such a shame that it had to take these tragedies for people to take actions.
