I must have different memories of Fox to some of you

Exciting at times, but he was far from the best player in that Norwich team. And he struggled to hold down first team places at both Newcastle and Spurs.

I'd actually have said that they were pretty similar in quality. Re-inforced by the fact they both had 1 or 2 games for England B, and that was it.

Fox played at a time when the main competition in terms of club football was British. Hucks came a generation later, when the same clubs were full of the best foreigners they could buy.

But in terms of where they stood relative to their English contemporaries - surely a fair assessment - they were about the same.
