If we all convince ourselves it will go wrong next season just because that's what he does, then it will.
It will come across in the support, too many people will turn up expecting things to turn, so any average performance will be savaged during the game.
Any dip in form will be greated with "well this is what he does, he's an impact manager".
People will then turn up expecting the dip to continue, not backing the team, and the cycle continues.
There is a self fulfilling prophecy just waiting to happen here.
