Ryan Jarvis

As an away day Canary in the North West, I spent my Saturday at Macclesfield Town today to watch the Silkmen play Notts County, and to watch Ryan Jarvis and Danny Crowe. The game ended 1-1, two very fine goals scored, one a wind-assisted 20 yard strike from Richard Butcher for County.

About our boy Ryan; some nice touches, ran about a lot, but really the Macc defence controlled him quite easilly. I can't remember anything from today that he did that suggested that he has a career in the higher leagues. A shame, but I don't think that he's good enough, Ryan looked like a Div 2 player (Glenn will be watching).

Danny Crowe, Ryan's strike partner was just average, looked slow and overweight. Another career gone.

I do enjoy my occasional days at the Moss Rose, good to stand on a terrace, a very fine Bovril and pastie, and only 10 mins to get home. However, back at the car, I hear the score from Carrow Road, 1-2, season over, oh well, so long as there's Championship football for the real games (and a real Premiership challenge) next year...
