Was a pretty bad idea without solid proposals put forward, especially as the donating was not about charity but about paying footballers
Would have been far better to form an organisation, liaise with the club and have something back for the fans
Ie £5 a month, 2 to Gunny's Leukemia charity, £2 to the kitty venture, 50p towards admin costs, 50p entrie to a monthly draw, which would rise and rise depending on subscription, or would stop at an amount after so many subscribed, and the extra would go into the kitty
Liaising with the club could see 5% discounted in the shop on top of all current discounts, making the venture plausible
That way fans could feel like they're doing something for Gunny, could get things cheaper in the long run in the shop, have a chance of winning in a lottery set up, and be part of a venture that would have helped the clubs transfers
Instead it looked like "we've got this idea right, you all give us money, and we pay the players with it"
