I heard Neil Adams’ statement about the selection or otherwise on Darren Huckerby on Canarycall when responding to some questions about Hucks from several callers including WotB’s Andy Jizzer.
Both Andy Jizzer’s questions and Adams’ responses were well made, and to be honest didn't say anything that most supporters did not think was the case.
However Adams is an junior employee of the club, but one in a unique position insofar as his opinion on the game is heard more than anyone else, and he has his own column in the newspaper.
In my view he holds this middle ground well when pressed on an issue (frustratingly so!), but if he airs an opinion in the media that is very different to Roeder’s, and effectively a direct criticism of his selection I can understand why Roeder feels the need to respond in the same way, via the media.
I know this is a statement of the bleedin obvious but Roeder’s statement is exactly the reason why Adams needs be very careful about the opinions he airs.
If this happens again would/could Roeder sack Adams?
