Jesus was certainly a living person - Jews regard him as little more than a prophet in their tale. Whereas the fundemental basis of the Catholic / Christian church is accepting the fact that he was some chaste Son of God.

All depends on the strength of your faith eh - personally I would love to think of Jesus as an ordinary guy who loved nobbing his lady!
