We should always play our best 11 for any given game. That doesn't mean Hucks should start every game, as there is a good reason, especially in away games, to play only one out and out winger, and Croft is certainly in the ascendency at the moment form wise. But to play him second fiddle to youngsters who are not yet up to the grade is insulting. Hucks might be fading, but he is still better than Henry and Gibbs at the moment.
And to play youngsters just because we might need the help of Reading and Middlesboro next season is not wise. It is evident thus far that Henry and Gibbs are not ready for Championship football. Why in God's name should we play these guys? We could play Robert Eagle instead, and get the same result.
If, as I suggested elsewhere, these guys are only playing because we have agreed quotos with the loaning clubs, then this is a big risk this club has taken. Thankfully we have pulled far enough away from the drop zone over the last 3 months, so the risk is lessened. But nevertheless, such business is not wise, and I hope we do not utilise such measures next season. Loaning seasoned pros like Camara - yes, as we know he'll deliver. Loaning unproven youngsters - big risk. They might deliver, they might not.
