I heard an interesting story yesterday.
A friend’s Mum who works locally in a chemists shop.
She knows most of her customers very well, having worked there for years. One of her customer’s daughters is getting married this summer, in a very plush venue in the south of England.
She was told the venue manager called the daughter last week to try to cancel the wedding booking. The three conversations went like something this : -
No1 Is it possible you could move your booking to another weekend? The daughter replied no chance.
No2 A second call by the venue manager offered the move the date, and make a substantial contribution to the wedding costs. The daughter declined again saying the guests had already made arrangements and it wasn’t the right thing to do
No3 The third call from the venue manager enquired as to the size of her mortgage and after having found out it was around £200,000, indicated that it would be paid off if they would consider moving the wedding date.
They have now moved the date.
