Thursday 7th Feb, 2008. The day English Football died??

Surely all this business of playing a 3th game abroad is mighty step too far??

Where does this leave clubs like Norwich?

I'm starting to think that we will get more fun and satisfaction from playing in the Championship rather than struggling in the Premier. How would we feel if we were assigned to playing our 39th game in Melbourne? The likelihood with this seeding is that we may well play one of the top 5 teams - seeing us get beat easily and therefore more money for the so called top teams and less for the smaller teams. And what if we are drawn to play Man Utd as our 39th game, but Ipswich get a middling team, say Blackburn, and their extra points enables them to stay up over us on goal difference??

This is shocking news to be honest. Who gives a s**t if there are fans for Man U or Arsenal or Chelsea living in China, Aus or USA??? If they want to watch football, let them come over here ffs!!! It should not be Englands devine right to give football to some country the other side of the world. Oh, hang on, money...this is so much about money for the big clubs and less for the poor, that it well and truly sucks.

Also, Premier clubs can now name 7 subs. Lovely, so they can now get bigger squads as can keep more players slightly happier. Again, great for the big clubs.

I hate to say, but in 10 years time, the Premier League will just be the global league that just so happens to be based in England. It will totally be foreign owners, managers and players, with hardly any English in sight.

The Premier League will then break away from the rest of English football, and the true English football left will be the Championship, until financial ruin takes hold for all those remaining clubs, as it dawns on everyone that what keeps clubs going right now is the dream of promotion.....until that is taken away.

Or am I getting carried away??
