The problem with this idea for me is that I already give plenty to the club

I pay my season ticket and I spend money in the club shop.

I have other things to spend additional cash on. I applaud any efforts to raise more money for the club, but I think there has been a cynical response because people were expecting something a bit more concrete and alse weren't expecting to be funding it themselves.
