Looks quite obvious to me that...

Huckerby didn't tell Roeder about his problem (like Roeder said) and that Roeder found out why he was playing so badly - probably by the physio. Hucks probably thinks he can play through it, but Roeder wants him to sort it out and therefore dropped him from the team.

That way you get one unhappy Huckerby who always wants to play and is annoyed because for once he didn't get what he wants, and Roeder telling the truth.

Also, if Huckerby goes to Preston or Palace I will eat my hat!
