not sure i agree totally- i think our real problem is not in discovering & developing talented young players, but rather in their subsequent development after their introduction into the first team

most of our 'home-grown' young players have, imho, looked good in their first few appearances (henderson, spillane, both jarvis', martin, eagle etc etc), but almost without fail they all struggle to maintain any kind of consistency- i can't help thinking its something inherent in the club that means they haven't had the necessary coaching (mental & physical) to get them through that transition.

of course this is just my opinion and it remains a formal possibiltiy that they are in fact s**te...
