No we don't need to get a grip

In our last two away games we have played some of the best football Norwich have played away for several years. We have done so playing a 4-4-2 formation with Croft on the right and Dion up front as the target man.

I cannot therefore understand why Roeder chose to revert to a 4-3-3 formation which has been shown time and time again lready this season not to work. Russell is not good on the right. He is a good player in the middle. Last night he had to play right midfield and had an ineffective game as a result. As a consequence we also had no width at all until Croft came on.

Camara was on the bench. Dion was on the bench. I accept in the latter's case we may have wanted to rest him but then perhaps we should not have released/sold our two other possible target men last week when we knew this game was coming up. The defence was re-jigged with Bertrand going to left back.

Worst of all was the three up front with Hucks ambling around somewhere between the midfield and attack playing in what appeared to be the "anywhere but where the ball is role" and with Jarvis playing we may as well have played with 10 men. In fact we would have been better with 10 men.

As much as anything else though it was the attitude. They were not up for is and I don't believe Roeder when he says he is angry. Even when 2 down we were not really chasing the game with any urgency.
