Except, as I said below, you can employ that argument every single year

If we were 9th, and looking for the play-offs, people would say the Cup would just get in the way.

If we were 15th, and looking over our shoulders, people would say the Cup would just get in the way.

If we were top, and looking for automatic promotion, people would say the Cup would just get in the way.

If we were 17th in the Prem, and looking to survive, people would say the Cup would just get in the way.

And invariably, one of the above scenarios applies every sodding season! So at what point are we ever going to treat this comp with the respect it deserves?
