A little whinge about Tottenham.
It seems that they are quite prepared to off load -and as soon as possible and with some enthusiasm-a proven and damned good quality player in Jermaine Defoe.
And replace him with an unproven and expensive Brazilian by the name of Fred.
Something doesn't quite make sense here does it? Is Fred a better player-and, if so why is he coming in on less than Spurs are expecting to sell Defoe for?
And why aren't the "big clubs" -those that have shown an interest in Defoe in the past, including Liverpool, making a bid for Fred, but leaving Tottenham to fight with Middlesbrough and co for him?
Could there be an issue with Defoe that is being kept under wraps?
Or, and I favour this, being a cynic, the fact that Fred=Striker=Brazilian, is rather a more glamorous option, commercially? Surely not?
