From the BBC News homepage

'A man has died after falling 1,600ft from a ridge on Helvellyn in the Lake District'.

Wouldn't have caught my eye if it had read, 'a man has died after falling from a ridge', or, 'a man has fallen 1,600ft from a ridge', but putting the two together suggests an element of surprise about the consequence.
