Trouble is, that is all said in hindsight, no?

We didn't really know Joe could hack it at Champ level (indeed, we still don't know...).

We desperately needed stability in goal at the time - we had Gallacher and a 20 year old kid who had never played a first team game. No way could Grant have made that decision and not got hung by it if things went wrong.

Marshall is a good, proven keeper with more experience than Lewis. It may come to pass, that Lewis becomes as good as, if not far better than Marshall - but the point is, that's still to happen - that's in the future. Unfortunately we also have to have a goalkeeper in the present as well.

Not a disgrace on NCFC's part IMO - more like 'wrong time, wrong place' for both parties.
