Most posters/pundits identify defence and attack as the areas most needing strengthening.
I think our weakest area is in central midfield. They create very little and both Fotheringham and Pattison appear incapable of either carrying the ball or passing accurately on the ground in a forward direction. One classic example was in the first half when Pattison received the ball in space about 5 yards in front of and to the right side of the penalty area. His fist touch was to turn back with the ball and then hammer a head high pass /cross straight at Gary Doherty.
This was the most extreme example but typified both of them . If one analysed them I am sure it would be found that 80% of their passes are sideways or backwards usually to a defender thus copping out of the responsibility of creating a forward move.
As for Cureton he is a goal scorer but needs a target man playing up front with him . Neither Evans, Martin or Jarvis are such players and it is significant that apart from the first ten minutes when we created 2 guilt edged chances only when Dublin went up front did we threaten again start
Finally Glen what on earth was that starting line up and formation all about?
