I'm slowly remembering more about that evening

A subcontractor working on my site had sponsored a Millwall game - Barnsley if my memory serves me - there were 57 barnsley fans there (I actually counted them).
Well anyway Malcolm Allen (of ex Norwich fame) was playing for Millwall, and with 5 minutes to go this bloke came in and asked us to nominate the MOM. As a reflex I shouted out the aforementioned player- everyone else was too p****d to even think (or for that manner even know anyone else's name).
When he came in the box to collect the champers I whispered in his ear that he only got it cause he used to play for Norwich - he was absolutely gutted - I felt really guilty for telling him (and playing fast and loose with such an esteemed award).
To this day everytime they nominate a player for MOM at CR that is obviously wrong and people say they must be p****d - they almost certainly are!!!!
