seem innocuous, until the guide tells you the building behind it was pretty much where the Nazi empire finally capitulated, and the holes are in fact incessant, random fire from Ruskis too piss... sorry, fortified, on vodka that they couldn't actually shoot straight.

Or the innocuous prefab apartment you stand outside, which you are then told is built on the bunker where Hitler ended it all.
