and he said that if Norwich stayed in the Premiership it would be because of him - he had a brilliant game against an under-strength Bolton, took one good free-kick against Man Utd and scored two (count 'em) very fortuitous goals against two of the division's worst defences.
Even then, it came down to a single game where he might have done something to help keep us up, and turned out the single worst performance I've ever seen by anyone in a Norwich City shirt, anywhere, ever. So he failed in his self-stated aim there as well.
Ultimately, he must know that he's not actually as good as he wants to be, otherwise he wouldn't be saying on a weekly basis that he should be in the England team (ahead of Champions League, Premiership and La Liga winner David Beckham - he doesn't even mention Wright-Phillips, Lennon or Agbonlahor) and would shut the f**k up and let his feet do the talking.
