Quite why i'm not sure, its not like he was promised millions a la Oneill. He will of been well aware of the situation when he came.

If the club don't nave £1m upfront to buy the lad then it doesn't happen, regardless of his importance, regardless of the cost of relegation, if the cash aint there it ain't there.
It does however raise a few points RE the Turners.
