I am now officially an old git

I have just acquired my bus pass and have already got the cheap season ticket. Not to mention the winter fuel allowance. This must mean that I can also become a grumpy old man and aim barbed comments at anyone under 30, and maybe even get away with non PC comments about young girls, because they'll just think "poor old sod" and maybe offer to buy me a drink as some kind of compensation. Or maybe not.

Still, when I suggested to the landlord of the Rosary Tavern that us old gits get cheap fuel, season tickets and bus fares, so what about the cheap bevvy, he said that the money I was saving on "incidentals" could be passed over the bar to help his meagre profits. Capitalist bastard!!

And so to the season to come. I am worried about the lack of quality, but it's not fair of me to be critical because, apart from Thorne, I don't recall seeing any of our new signings, although Louis Jean, Jarrett and Hughes have obviously played against us a few times, but they didn't stand out in the way that, forexample, players like Sidwell and Commons have done. I suppose, in my old age I was thinking we might get someone more interesting, although if Marney is signed, that would hit the spot for me I think.

But we've got to get behind the lads from the off and will them back to the Prem where, second time around I think we'll make a better fist of it than last season. And if you see a doddering old c**t who might also be a Hearts fan wandering about the place it could be me, and mine's a pint of Deuchars.
