I doubt we could down-size any more in terms of playing staff or club staff. I think off-field activities are only adding to revenue not taking away.
Adding Taylor and his premier wages on long terms would distort the wage bill and lead to jealousy among players. If he we to accept a cut to a reasonable wage then i'd be happy to punt on him, give him a good sign-on fee for relocation etc but that it.
Lets be honest how many people earn £260k a year? What sort of jobs do they do? Yet £260k is £5k a week, for kicking a f**king ball. Or in Taylors case we imagining he earns at least 3 times that and only came to kick a ball to top his fitness up.
